Konad and Crackle

I've been trying out more konad plates as well as both OPI's Black Shatter and China Glaze's white Crackle polishes.  Here's some pics and opinions:

Here's my third go with Konad. This is two coats of Zoya's Trixie with Zoya's Reece as the stamp, using two patterns from m60. Zoya's Armor for topcoat.

I made the mistake of stamping my thumbs, even though I told myself over and over again that I wasn't going to attempt any of the precise full-nail stamps on my thumbs. This sort of set me to not caring quite so much as I finished stamping and so I ended up messing up a few of them before they were fully dried.

So I decided to take them off completely and do something new. But as I was going to get my remover, I noticed OPI's Black Shatter sitting there. I had tried it twice already and back times it had turned out streaky and horrible looking. Since I was going to take off the polish, anyway, I tried again.

I don't know if it was the fact I already had a topcoat on that it was going over or because I decided to do it as fast as I could, even if it got sloppy, but it turned out a lot better.

This looks really good together, I think. There's the black and the silver, but then also hints of light pink which the camera didn't really want to catch up on.

And here's a close up of my right thumb. It was the last one I did and I think the best looking. I couldn't really capture it in my camera, but it has a really awesome texture, with big and little cracks, making it look almost like some sort of reptilian pattern.

So, anyway, if you're having problems with Black Shatter streaking, I'd suggest either trying it over a top coat (which might help since it's smoother, idk) or putting it on extremely fast, disregarding neatness (you can clean up your skin later, after all).

It seems to be holding up pretty well (the pics are from the day after I did this), even though a lot of things shed quickly when they're on a top coat and I didn't put another top coat over it.

Oh, and piece of advice? Even though it sounds like a really cool idea to then put China Glaze's White Lightning crackle overtop, DON'T. It basically becomes this uneven, grey chalky mess. There were very slight cracks where the silver peaked through, but mostly it just covered up the cool effect of the Black Shatter while absorbing some of the black pigment.

I was sloppy with the application and didn't both cleaning it off before taking a picture (which was super hard to get, I had to do this with my phone), but here you go:

It's a bit darker IRL, with a few weird streaks and spots of black showing through. I guess it would be good for Halloween.
